10.30am - 12pm Learn to be a DJ: LIMITED PLACES
Tony brings something completely different to Heydays – the opportunity to learn techniques of being a DJ. Using the latest technology including CD mixing equipment, you will have the chance to create your own playlists and hear your favourite tunes as you’ve never heard them before! We will be offering 2 courses of 6 weeks to accommodate 18 people in total. Group 1 will meet from 16 April to 21 May. Group 2 will meet 28 May to 2 July.

An Introduction to Collograph Printmaking: LIMITED PLACES
The definition of a collagraph is: “a print made from a plate produced by the collage method.” Initially we will explore ideas from subject matter based on observational still life or photographs, and then we shall transfer those images, into print using the collagraphic method. This will involve the use of a printing press. For this class there will be a contribution of £5 per participant towards the cost of printing inks. You will need protective clothing such as an old shirt or t-shirt.

Crafts for the Bazaar: LIMITED PLACES
This year we are starting a little earlier to prepare for our Christmas fundraising Bazaar. Participants in this group will be making items such as embellished bags, purses, belts, scarves, keyrings and other items which can be sold to raise money for Heydays. All materials provided.

General Crafts Skill Share
A chance to share knowledge and practice various styles of crafts in an informal setting with other Heydays members.

 
10.30am - 12pm I'd Love to Paint a Landscape: LIMITED PLACES
A new artist for Heydays, Jane will introduce, through learned techniques, an unstuffy way to paint landscapes in watercolour. Painting should be fun! It is also physical. The way you are is the way you paint, so Jane encourages a free, happy atmosphere.

Yoga: LIMITED PLACES
Take time out over lunchtime to relax, improve your posture and balance. Yoga is a fantastic exercise for people of all abilities and Liz makes beginners and improvers most welcome.

The support group assist the Arts Development team by producing all kinds of props and decorations for Playhouse community and education projects. Join this friendly group and get creative.

An Introduction to Chinese Papercraft: LIMITED PLACES
Chinese papercraft is similar to Origami in many ways. Feng-Li will demonstrate how to adapt this traditional technique to use papers available locally, and create colourful and decorative small-scale works. Over the weeks there will be progression to pieces with moving parts, such as birds with flapping wings and simple camera boxes.

Silk Painting and Dyeing : LIMITED PLACES
Hilary makes a welcome return to Heydays. Looking at different ways of producing designs on fabric, by painting and dyeing, we will try various techniques and work on individual projects from tiny silk paintings to larger scale decorative wall hangings.

Theatrical Costume Design: LIMITED PLACES
Maria returns with another exciting course. Working from inspirational source material and your own ideas you will learn to design andexplore theatrical costumes from different periods. You will learnthe process of drawing the human figure through to designing a costume. This is a great opportunity to develop your creativity and imagination by designing a costume for a Panto, a Play or a Musical.

Heydays end of term Celebration & Exhibition
Wednesday 9 July: Times and programme to be confirmed.
A celebration of all the creative work that has taken place this term. Not only will the visual arts work be on public display, but all the other groups will have an opportunity to perform. All members, friends and family are encouraged to come along and enjoy the wealth of talent that forms Heydays.
